How To Get To Oriental Mindoro

The Province of Oriental Mindoro is part of the MIMAROPA Region and is located approximately 140 kilometers directly south of Manila. From Manila, travel time going to Batangas Port takes up to 2 to 2.5 hours via private vehicle or bus.

The island province is a one-hour fast craft ferry ride and two-to-three-hour roll-on-roll-off (RoRo) ferry ride from the International Port of Batangas which operates on a 24-hour basis. Calapan City, the seat of the Provincial Government, is the main gateway to the province. However, fast crafts and RoRo vessels plying the Batangas route also have direct services in the Municipality of Puerto Galera through the Ports of Muelle and Balatero. The Dangay Port in the Municipality of Roxas also operates with trips to and from Caticlan, Alkan and Odiongan, Romblon. The seaport in the Municipality of Bulalacao also hosts ferry trips going to and from Caticlan, Aklan with weekly special trips to Caluya, Antique and vice versa. Entry and exit points for intra-island travels to and from Occidental Mindoro are located in the Bulalacao – San Jose and soon-to-be-opened Puerto Galera – Abra de Ilog boundaries.

All the towns in the Province of Oriental Mindoro are connected through the Strong Republic Nautical Highway where public utility vehicles are available when one wants to transfer from one town to another.
