The MASAYAW Festival of the Municipality of San Teodoro highlights its rich culture, faith, and dynamic traditions, where various activities emphasize the people’s unity and exuberance. The word “MASAYAW” stands for (MA) - Maria, the Immaculate Conception, the town’s patroness; (SA) - San Teodoro, representing the municipality’s rich culture, heritage, and abundant natural resources, symbolizing the pride and beauty of the town; and (YAW) - "sumayaw" (to dance), symbolizing the spirit of joy and celebration that embodies the festival.
By virtue of Municipal Ordinance No. 01-2024, the MASAYAW Festival is officially recognized as the main festival of San Teodoro, celebrated on December 8, coinciding with the town’s founding anniversary.
